1) For my second independent component I plan to either make more mock mediation conflicts or a peer mediation video. I plan to make the video by having two people take part in a conflict and the use peer mediation to help solve the conflict. Or I might just come up with a couple of conflicts so that the peer mediation class can depict the needs of the people taking part in the conflict. It could help future mediation students!
2) This relates to my essential question because it is important that a peer mediation instructor understands the needs in a conflict. If a instructor doesn't understand how to depict needs in a conflict it is likely that they will not be able to run a successful peer mediation program.
I would love it if you could work on a video that shows a conflict...maybe you could even do it reality tv style where after the initial conflict, the disputants reflect separately on what happened. Then the peer mediators could meet them and help them come to a resolution. You're welcome to use some class time to get footage.
