What would you like to do/create for your independent component?
For my independent component I would like to come up with engaging activities
for my peers in Peer Mediation.
Explain how you think this will be a worthwhile use of 30 hours?
I believe this will be a worthwhile use of 30 hours because finding and
or creating engaging activities strengthens the unity of the class. Students
become more comfortable and accepting of each other. If I create activities
and I manage to make them fun and educational students will have a good time
and learn all at the same time. In turn having a pleasurable experience will make
them want to learn and be more enthusiastic about the next activity. Keeping
students enthusiastic is a hard but very important task in Peer Mediation.
How will this help you to answer your EQ?
Considering that my essential question is "What is most important in making
a Peer Mediation program successful"; I believe activities would be a significant
attribute in helping me answer my essential question because "activities" themselves
is an answer to creating a successful Peer Mediation Program. In creating activities I
will discover what exactly excites students and makes them comfortable enough to
share and open up.
This sounds good...just so you know, WJC is really interested in having you do some work for them, and this is also an option for independent tasks or perhaps some of your service learning hours. I kind of think that you will go over in your hours, but that can only help your assessments. Remind me to talk to you about some of your options this coming Tuesday.
