Interview Reflection #1
The most important thing that I learned from my interview was that having Peer Mediation skills can carry on through a person's life. I really want to inform people about Peer Mediation but more importantly I want to gain Peer Mediation skills for myself so that I can help the people around me. Dustin was very helpful in explaining how having Peer Mediation skills can really help an individual in the future. He told me Peer Mediation has helped him understand the needs of people when they're in a conflict. I think this is really helpful because if you can help a person recognize their needs in a conflict they might be able to fix the problem much easier and more efficiently. Something that stood out to me that Dustin mentioned was that he said he could easily turn an argument to a constructive conversation. If everyone could do this we would have a lot less arguments. I would consider these the most important things I learned because these are the things that are going to shape me into becoming a successful peer mediator.
