Service Learning 10 Hour Progress Check

I go to service learning every Tuesday with Mrs. Ortega and occasionally on Wednesdays.I have been going since September 14th and our meetings last about an 1 hour and 30 minuets.  I feel like we have accomplished a lot for the peer mediation class at I-poly. Every time we meet we try to come up with ideas to improve the next class. I have learned a lot from Mrs.Ortega; I would say the most significant thing I've learned  would be being able to know what she feels after a class. This really helps me understand the pressure she feels when the class isn't cooperative or responsive. This gives me a better understanding of the hard work that goes into teaching high school students the concepts of peer mediation. I feel like I can derive an answer from that because maybe it takes a certain type of attitude or personality to teach something like peer mediation. Mrs. Ortega does an excellent job of keeping the students on track because she approaches the class the right way. Something specific that I have done was host peer mediation's first event which was called Don't Be A Stranger Day". The goal of DBAS day was to unite the upper and lower class classmen. From my point of view it was a success and it was definitely a footstep to leading peer mediation in the right direction.
